LAYERED COLLECTION
Joaquin Salim
Description
In And Then, fragments of typography and color bars collide, evoking both the language of print and the fleeting interruptions of media. The oversized word “and” suggests continuation, a story unfinished, a thought suspended, while the repetition of “OPEN” at the bottom gestures toward possibility. Through layered fragments, Salim constructs a work that feels both incomplete and infinite, a meditation on how meaning always lies in what comes next.
Joaquin Salim (1987) a Venezuelan multidisciplinary artist, based in New York. Salim has exhibited his work across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, and his practice often transforms overlooked details and forgotten objects into layered, visually engaging compositions. With a background in graphic design and a Master of Fine Arts from SCAD University, he brings a thoughtful and experimental approach to both materials and media, exploring the intersection of art, design, and everyday objects.
