LAYERED COLLECTION
Joaquin Salim
Description
In Muchísimo, bold typography dominates the surface, declaring “A LOT” against a backdrop of stamps, permits, and fragmented photographs. The work echoes the weight of accumulation, of images, words, and cultural traces layered until they become both overwhelming and essential. Salim transforms this abundance into a meditation on excess and memory, reminding us how meaning is often found in what we gather and repeat.
Joaquin Salim (1987) a Venezuelan multidisciplinary artist, based in New York. Salim has exhibited his work across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe, and his practice often transforms overlooked details and forgotten objects into layered, visually engaging compositions. With a background in graphic design and a Master of Fine Arts from SCAD University, he brings a thoughtful and experimental approach to both materials and media, exploring the intersection of art, design, and everyday objects.
