LAYERED COLLECTION
Joaquin Salim
Description
In Santa María, the image of Colón’s historic ship dialogues with bold typography. The juxtaposition blurs eras and meanings, turning the vessel into both a relic of colonial history and a commentary on accumulation, trade, and cultural residue. Through layering fragments of contemporary text and historic image, Salim reframes memory and shifting narratives.
