LAYERED COLLECTION
Joaquin Salim
Description
In Fool’s Mate, the image of a hand moving a chess piece is layered with the word “less,” evoking the fragility of choice. The composition becomes a metaphor for strategy and risk, recalling both the calculated logic of chess and the unpredictability of gambling. Salim uses this interplay to reflect on decision-making in life. How a single move can alter the course of events, exposing the fine balance between foresight, chance, and consequence.
Joaquin Salim (1987) a Venezuelan multidisciplinary artist, based in New York.
